First Focus on Children

Today, I write in support of First Focus. I believe that children offer greater hope and value than all other national resources. Their small voices rely on those who care enough to champion them.

“First Focus is a bipartisan advocacy organization dedicated to making children and families the priority in federal policy and budget decisions.”

First Focus for Children, seeks to proclaim the importance of children, speak for them, and promote policies to improve mental, emotional, and physical health. Four goals guide these efforts.

1. The first goal seeks to raise awareness of the challenges faced by our most defenseless citizens.

2. A second goal focuses on turning research into workable solutions.

3. Delivering messages with enough conviction that policymakers become open to justice, becomes a third goal.

4. Finally, First Focus works for kids by advocating, mobilizing partners, using social and traditional media, and by recognizing policymakers who stand up for children in our nation and world.

As parents, we embrace children in our own families by giving them quality food, security, good health care, excellent educational opportunities, and loving attention. We will be wise to seek equivalent benefits for all children. Each child remains precious. Each one deserves quality. No child can be forgotten.

First Focus on Children and its sister organization, First Focus Campaign for Children, offer thorough, bipartisan, achievable solutions to ensure the well-being of children in the U.S. and around the world.
